A simple month-end checklist for small businesses
Ten tasks, about an hour, and your books are ready for your accountant.

Month-end does not need to be a weekend job. With bank feeds connected, most of the work is checking rather than typing.
Match the remaining bank transactions, chase any receipts that are missing, and review invoices that are more than 30 days overdue.
Finish by running a profit and loss report and comparing it with last month. Anything that looks odd is worth a closer look now, not in April.
